The news that a major Avatar: The Way of Water villain will return in Avatar 3 is proof that the Avatar franchise keeps continuing a bad trend. There is a good reason that James Cameron is on track to dethrone Stephen Spielberg as the highest-grossing director of all time. The filmmaker knows what blockbuster audiences want, as evidenced by the success of the Terminator movies, Titanic, and, most recently, the record-breaking return of the Avatar series.
