Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies contradicts a crucial moment from Grease when Sandy's initiated into the group. The new Paramount Plus series has only premiered two episodes but has already set a very different tone from the 1978 Randal Kleiser film. While Grease is a beloved classic, many of its messages don't resonate in modern-day society. A Rise of the Pink Ladies' first scene quickly corrects the idea that anyone should have to change who they are to appeal to another person, as Sandy does in Grease. The new series also has a much more diverse cast than the film.
