Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin has a positive update for season 5, despite the production delay by the Writer's Guild of America (WGA) strike. Ahead of its season 4 premiere, Netflix renewed Stranger Things for a fifth and final season. Season 4 ended on a cliffhanger, leaving questions about what is next for The Party in their pursuits to takedown Vecna. Production on the season had just begun when the WGA officially declared a strike in May 2023. As a result, the show delayed production due to the necessity to have a writer on set even when the scripts were complete.
